Research

Introducing a new concept for accessibility professionals with the introduction of digital illiteracy in a fast-digitalizing world. Because accessibility and access to overlap, they call for 2 specific approaches to serve the needs of customers with disabilities and/or digital illiteracy.

Language is the first contact with customers, a roadmap to disability inclusive language for businesses. In this research I take you on the journey I took to find the best fitting solution for disability inclusive corporate language within the UN CRPD guided guidelines.

Diversity and inclusion receive increased attention, and more and more businesses denounce discrimination. Adding a new dimension to this discussion about discrimination. A lack of accessibility, like ableism, is a form of discrimination as it impacts PwD's individual characteristics.

White paper (2022) on accessible banking services for the Dutch market. Explaining the need for clear accessibility legislation for the financial sector, including clarity on responsibilities.

White paper (2014) on entrepreneurship for Dutch persons with disabilities. Because curren tlegislation is cutting short and actually prohibits PwD's to become fully recognized entrepreneurs.

White paper  on the Dutch transposition of the European Accessibility Act. Explaining the need for a holistic approach on accessibility legislation in The Netherlands.

My first research paper (2012) on disability inclusion in employment, from an sustainability perspective. And start of a career in accessibility without realizing its impact in my career to come.
